Roger relates...
Roger here. Just got over about a week of the flu. Paul did a good job covering for me at Native Bible Fellowship Sunday. I came in to preach, but the flu drove me back home before the service began. Recovering my strength today, hopefully.
1) We need to agree on our next staff meeting. Since Bob and I have ANAM meetings in Knoxville in Nov., and AIMI has a Board meeting in Jan. in Globe, Bob and I have been thinking that a staff meeting would be good Thur., Dec. 6th in Show Low, AZ., 1 PM to 5 PM. Bring plenty of Christmas cookies and cupcakes. ;-) Have a lunch for a few bucks at the school at noon, or eat lunch before you get there, ...your choice.
I will be leaving from the Zuni Mission School about 10 AM with my mission SUV if anyone wants to ride from there together.
Let me know IF THAT WORKS FOR EVERYONE ASAP. And Bob, let me know if we can get the school in Show Low to give us a room. And let me know who rides with me from Zuni.
2) Just a reminder..., make sure I have the opportunity to review all newsletters and mission p.r. before it goes out. It's a staff policy and according to by-laws. Also remember that even though we partner with several different missions and ministries, it's good to report on what you are doing with them, but make sure the bulk of your letters and p.r. material reflects what you are ESPECIALLY doing with AIMI. I appreciate your help with this.
3) Also, keep in mind that it is the responsibility of the General Director to handle any correspondance with other missions, especially regarding items of a critical nature, unless given authority to represent AIMI and the General Director by permission first. Also very deeply appreciated....
4) Continue to 'red mark' your staff policy manuals for suggested corrections by the Dec. staff meeting, for it will go to the Board for final approval in Jan.
5) Keep me advised of prayer requests that I can pass on to staff and board weekly, as able.
These will not be the prayer items sent out to a larger audience by Bob weekly, but will be 'in house' for staff and board only. Please honor this and keep them 'in house' when you recieve them. This prayer list to me is only for the AIMI Family to pray for one another. if possible, send them by Tues., so I can put them together that day. Keep them as concise as you are able. Thanks.

Here's some staff Prayer Requests I have heard about this week;
Tobie has a neighbor's horse causing problems with her property. Pray for her to have wisdom and a healthy all around resolution to handling this annoying, and costly problem.
The Kontz's baby girl is doing well. Pray for them as they prepare another big deputation trip soon, and praise for a large support partner they just picked up recently. Their son Elisha is also getting over the flu.
Gavins just had a big meeting with their 'home' church in Albuquerque. Pray for good results from that meeting, and for future deputation plans to come together soon.
Kindes need that house in AZ. to sell soon. Very, very soon!! It's holding them up alot right now budget-wise. Praise for good results and turnouts so far in their 2 NETS classes, the only one's we got going this semester.
Faulkners and Margaret had good numbers at church this week. Pray for Bob and Roger's trip plans to represent AIMI at the ANAM meetings in Tennessee next month.
Pray for Kathy who has a week off teaching to visit our daughter's family in Georgia this week, Rob in his new college studies to do well, and me as I try to 'get back into the saddle' after a long and nasty round with the flu. Praise that Kathy has helped get a Ladies Craft and Fellowship group up and going Thursday nights at Native Bible Fellowship. At least a dozen Navajo and one other missionary ladies coming so far.
