Greetings from Globe, Arizona

Thought you might be interested in knowing something about our staff. Thank you for your faithful prayer & financial support.

NEW COMPUTER - We got our new computer this week, and having a lot of fun getting it set up and files transferred. Some files can be transferred automatically. Others by hand.

KEN - Ken has been home now for 2 weeks. He is doing volunteer work here at the AIMI headquarters, and lives in our old RV. He is looking forward to getting his counseling behind him, and then getting a job that pays.

STAFF - Faulkners, Globe, AZ - Bernice & I are still teaching at San Carlos. I keep very busy working in the office as the financial administrator. Since July 2007 our finances are at 100%.

Tobie Keiser is teaching youth in Sanders, AZ, and has ladies Bible study. She has an excellent horse ministry, and has been accepted to attend the Parelli horse training classes in Colorado next year. Her finances are at 98%

Scarbros, Gallup, NM - Roger & Kathy are busy with the Native church in Gallup. Roger is the mission director. Pastors the Native Bible Fellowship Church, teaches youth in Zuni, and Native Bible training at Gallup. Finances are at 83%.

Robert Scarbro is working with his dad, Roger, and attending college in Gallup. He has reached 100% of his financial goal for the summer.

Kinde, Vanderwagon, NM - Bruce & Darlene are teaching Native Bible training at Window Rock & Hunters Point, AZ. Bruce is a maintenance man at Broken Arrow Ranch (UIM ministry), and radio maintenance (WIM ministry). Their finances are at 75%.

Kontz, Vanderwagon, NM - Paul & Sarah just gave us a personnel addition with a baby girl. They have 2 children, including the new born. Paul teaches youth in Zuni and Gallup. Finances are at 19%.

Gavin, Albuquerque, NM - Monty & Cheryl are new staff, working on their support before being assigned a work position.

Margaret Beakler is a "full-time volunteer" helping at the San Carlos mission. She also helps with mailings at the office.

It is Friday, Sept. 14th, and time for another update.

A BIB THANK YOU - to all who responded to my letter concerning work teams. I really needed that encouragement.

SAN CARLOS - A much better attendance last Sunday then the week before. Labor Day week-end attendance was 14. Last Sunday attendance was 24. Almost double.

TRAVEL - I (Bob) traveled to Douglas, AZ, Sunday after service at San Carlos. It was a hard drive with lots of rain. Temperature dropped 35 degrees (F) in 3 hours. I did arrive at New Tribes Mission at 8:30 PM, and was given a good meal and a good place to sleep. Thank you Bill & Joann Meng, New Tribes missionaries, and NTM for being so kind.

Monday morning I picked up Ken and headed home. Since then Ken has helped with projects around the AIMI property, including finishing the office steps that Ricky, from Cape Town, Africa, and myself started. A job well done. Thank you Ricky and Ken.

Yesterday Margaret, mission volunteer, Bernice & myself traveled to Gallup, New Mexico for a mission staff meeting. A 5 hour trip, a 5 hour meeting, and 5 hours home made for a long day. The staff meetings are super, and Margaret, who is not required to attend, looks forward to each meeting.

Monday, Sept. 17, I (Bob) will travel to Show Low, AZ for the ANAM, SWR committee meeting. We are looking forward to a great Association of North American Missions, Southwest Region conference February 2008 in Phoenix, Arizona.

I am also on the ANAM General Council, and will travel to Knoxville, TN in November for a council meeting. We will be planning for the ANAM Forum held in Dallas, TX in April 2008, and other items to strengthen the association.

PERSONNEL - We praise God for the blessings He has given AIMI since we began this ministry in 1988. However, we still need a couple/family to work in San Carlos. Another couple/family to work in Sanders. We are in need of 2 or 3 Board members.

FINANCES - are looking well at present. Pray for full support for our missionary families. Thank you for your prayer & financial support for projects and general ministries. Funds are in for the new computer, and it is ordered. We expect to have it in the office next week.

AIMI Update

Richard (Ricky) Joshua - Today Bernice & I took Ricky to Show Low to meet Roger, who will be taking Ricky to Albuquerque to board a plane back to Cape Town, South Africa. While Ricky was here at the AIMI Headquarters, he helped build steps & platform for office trailer, rode in the van to pick up people for church service at San Carlos, played ball with the kids, gave a chalk talk, traveled across 4 Indian reservations, and saw 3 Indian ruins.

Unfortunately, attendance was down for Sunday service at San Carlos, so he did not get to meet as many Apache people as he would have liked. We all had a great time, and now have a new friend. Pray for Ricky and his family as they seek God's will for their lives as possible missionaries to the American Indians.

Val and family - Two of Val's boys are attending Sherman Indian Boarding school in California. Her husband, Al, is away fighting fire. Not sure where. That means she has to care for 4 children, while going through a loss of 3 family members. Her car quit working July 2nd, and the mechanic, at the garage here in Globe, can not locate the problem. FOR YOU ARIZONA PEOPLE - Do you know of a good running car that someone would be willing to donate?

Tobie Keiser - Tobie's application for her horse training ministry arrived today. I (Bob) will send it to Parelli with full payment. She and her horse will be traveling to Colorado August 2008 to attend the training.

Ken - I (Bob) will travel to Douglas this Sunday, pick up Ken Monday morning, and return home. Pray he will adjust to "the free world", and find a job quickly. He will be on parole for one year.

Continue to pray for the entire AIMI team. I will include other staff and needs as I receive word from them.

Just a quick follow-up from yesterday.

Quote - I e-mailed Roger to see if the guy arrived from Africa. His answer - Nope. Never got the funds for the ticket. Said he'd try again another time. Roger just informed me that "Richard" got the funds for his airline ticket, and will arrive in Albuquerque, Sunday at 1 PM. Roger is planning to bring Richard and two other staff members, that have not seen the AIMI headquarters, to Globe sometime soon.

I have three important engagements in September. ANAM southwest meeting in Show Low, September 13th, doctor appointment in Phoenix, September 19th, and AIMI staff meeting that we are having a hard time deciding when & where. I guess that is part of growing pain. Roger informed me that he will plan on meeting with the New Mexico staff members September 13th in Gallup. Bernice, Margaret and myself will not be there because of the ANAM meeting. Perhaps we can have an "Arizona" staff meeting while Roger and "crew" are here in Globe.

Greetings from Globe/San Carlos, Arizona

Thank you for your response to my inquiry about dial-up & high speed Internet. It has really helped with my mailing. The change to high speed Internet has been a big blessing to ministry here at AIMI headquarters. Now to update the office computer.

No word from our auditor - yet. All we know at this time, is they are working on it.

By the way - did I share that Margaret did not send her resignation in. She taught her class at San Carlos, and completed her application for volunteer service. She will teach again this Sunday, then leave for 10 days to visit her daughter in Portland, Oregon.

We received the official word that Ken is being released September 10th, at 8 AM, from Douglas. WOW! We have service, and pot luck at San Carlos, Sunday, September 9th. We are planning to take two vehicles to San Carlos. After service, Bernice will come home, and I will drive to Douglas. Pick up Ken Monday morning. Stop in Safford to see his Parole Officer, then home.

I e-mailed Roger to see if the guy arrived from Africa. His answer - Nope. Never got the funds for the ticket. Said he'd try again another time. A young college lady would like to come for a week during Easter break. Roger sent an application to her. Haven't heard any more.

I have three important engagements in September. ANAM southwest meeting in Show Low, September 13th, doctor appointment in Phoenix, September 19th, and AIMI staff meeting that we are having a hard time deciding when & where. I guess that is part of growing pain.
